Aged 16, Lincoln minster school
Katie has just started studying English, Maths, Music and Drama A levels at Lincoln Minster School. Her main loves are theatre - especially Shakespeare, opera, ballet, music (an eclectic mix of choral, classical and rock), and reading. As well as taking part in the Bomber Command charity single, she sings as a Junior Choral Scholar in Lincoln Cathedral Choir and in the Cathedral Consort Choir, plays violin and flute in many different instrumental groups and takes part in theatre productions both with local companies and in school. Katie has a strong interest in current affairs, and it is this coupled with her respect for the Bomber Command and knowledge of the terrible adversity caused by the conflict in Aleppo and across Syria that has made recording this single such a meaningful experience:
"I feel it is incredibly unjust that the children of Syria are suffering in such harrowing circumstances, through no fault of their own. I am incredibly lucky to live in a place where such atrocities are not being committed and yet I feel a sense of duty and compassion towards the young people in these war torn places, who are so similar to myself, and yet have been dealt such a different and unforgiving hand in life."
